Velkommen til lansering av antologien ‘Arts, Heritage and performative Politics’ redigert av Laima Nomeikaite (førsteamanuensis ved Institutt for global utvikling og planlegging, Universitet i Agder) og Michael Haldrup (professor ved Roskilde universitet).

Antologien ‘Arts, Heritage and performative Politics’ fremmer nye analyser og debatter om den performative politikken rundt kunst-kunstarv, og presenterer kunst som en integrert del av kulturarv. Boken utvider vår forståelse, utover de tradisjonelle rammene for kulturarvsstudier, og tilbyr en tverrfaglig tilnærming til kunst-kulturarv som dekker performance, visuell kunst, teater, dans, fotografi, industrielt landskap, rural graffiti, avant-garde kultur, liturgi, poesi og performativ skriving.

I tråd med bokens performative, kunstneriske og politiske natur lanseres antologien med performances, opplesninger og en panelsamtale med kunstnere som også er bidragytere til boken.

OM DELTAKERNE:

Fernanda Branco er en performance kunstner, gartner og poet fra Brasil, bosatt i Norge. Arbeidene hennes henter inspirasjon fra økologiens poetikk. Branco har en doktorgrad i kunstnerisk forskning fra Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo og en mastergrad i performance fra Scenekunst Akademiet.

Luanda Carneiro Jacoel (BR/NO) sitt arbeid som performance kunstner handler om prinsipper som forfedre, minner og temporalitet i den afro-diasporiske kroppen. Hun er doktorgradsstipendiat i kunstnerisk forskning innen film og relatert audiovisuell kunst (FILMART) ved Den norske filmskolen (INN) og på Akademi for scenekunst (HiØ).

Jad El Khoury er en libanesisk tverrfaglig kunstner basert i Oslo. Han har en mastergrad i arkitektur fra Det Libanesiske universitet og en mastergrad i kunst og offentlige rom fra Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo. El Khourys arbeider spenner fra statiske installasjoner til samfunnsengasjerte praksiser. I 2019 ble han tildelt Arte Laguna-prisen.

Laima Nomeikaite er fysisk improvisatør og førsteamanuensis ved Institutt for global utvikling og planlegging ved Universitetet i Agder. Arbeidet hennes spenner over kunst, kulturarvsforskning og byplanlegging, med særlig fokus på skjæringspunktet mellom kulturarv, kunst, by og rom/sted.

Kirstine Reffstrup er forfatter med en mastergrad i litterær komposisjon fra Kunstakademiet Valand i Gøteborg. Hun debuterte i 2016 med romanen Jeg, Unica. I 2023 utkom romanen Jernlungen som ble nominert til Politikens Litteraturpris. Det samme året mottok Kirstine Reffstrup Stig Sæterbakkens Minnepris for sitt forfatterskap. Bøkene hennes er oversatt til flere språk.

Boklanseringen er arrangert av førsteamanuensis Laima Nomeikaite ved Institutt for global utvikling og planlegging, Universitet i Agder i samarbeide med Kristiansand Kunsthall.

Welcome to the launch of the anthology Arts, Heritage and performative Politics’ edited by Laima Nomeikaite (University of Agder) and Michael Haldrup (Roskilde University) at Kristiansand Kunsthall the 27th of November from 3p.m to 5p.m.

The anthology analyzes the intersection of arts, heritage and performative politics, challenging traditional distinctions between these disciplines. Departing from the conventional notion of heritage as a static artefact, the book reveals how art heritage functions as a living political performance, exploring its manifestation in artistic practices ranging from music, dance, performance and poetry to rural graffiti and neon signs.

In line with the book's performative, artistic and political nature, the anthology will be launched with dance, readings and a panel discussion with artists who also contributed to the book.

ABOUT THE PARTICIPANTS:

Fernanda Branco is a performance artist, gardener and poet from Brazil, based in Norway. Her work draws on the poetics of ecology. Branco holds a PhD in Artistic Research from the the Oslo National Academy of the Arts and a Master’s in Fine Arts in Performance from the Norwegian Theatre Academy.

Luanda Carneiro Jacoel (BR/NO) is a performance artist working with the principles of ancestry, memory and temporality in the Afro - Diasporic body. The work crosses boundaries between dance; ritual; installation and visual arts. She is a PhD fellow in artistic research in film and related audio-visual arts (FILMART) at The Norwegian Film School (INN) and at Norwegian Theatre Academy (HiØ).

Jad El Khoury is a Lebanese multidisciplinary artist based in Oslo, Norway. He holds a master's degree in architecture from the Lebanese University and a master's degree in art and public space from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. El Khoury's work ranges from static installations to socially engaged practices. In 2019, he was awarded the Arte Laguna Prize.

Laima Nomeikaite is a physical improviser and Associate Professor at the Department of Global Development and Planning at the University of Agder, Norway. Her work spans the arts, heritage research and urban planning, with a particular focus on the intersection between heritage, arts, the city and space/place.

Kirstine Reffstrup is a writer who holds a master's in literary composition from the Art Academy Valand in Gothenburg. She made her debut with the novel I, Unica in 2016. Her second novel, Iron Lung, was released in 2023 and nominated for the Politiken Literature Prize. In the same year, she was awarded Stig Sæterbakken’s Memorial Prize for her body of work. Her novels have been translated into several languages.

The book launch is arranged by associated professor Laima Nomeikaite from the Department of Global Development and Planning, University of Agder in collaboration with Kristiansand Kunsthall.
